This week I’ve been diving back into old cinema again as a part of learning about plots and storytelling. By virtue of limited technology, they really learned how to keep things simple back in the day. “The Mad Magician” was on AMC Halloween night. Essentially, it is about an engineer who gets tired of being out of the spotlight, gets screwed by his employer ten ways from Sunday, and has to cover up a few crimes of passion. It isn’t the best movie on cable, but its a lot of fun. You also might never see Vincent Price look so young.
It also points to how writers actually do come up with their plots.
I dug up the first ten minutes or so from YouTube. Enjoy.
